Winthrop University Athletics

Junior Jeanne Stroud was voted the 2012 Big South Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors.  The English major from Charleston, SC has maintained a 3.939 grade point average.  She also broke the school 5K record for a second time this season as she finished second at the Big South Conference Championshjip with a time of 17:20.03.  She had set the record just two weeks earlier at The Citadel Invitational which she won with a time of 17:24.57.
